USC Defeats Oregon To Push Record To 7-2

    LOS ANGELES -- The USC women's volleyball team bounced back from a loss in its Pac-10 opener by defeating Oregon, 15-10, 15-7, 15-10, in front of 500 at the North Gym on Saturday (Sept. 21).

    USC, ranked No. 11, improved to 7-2 overall and 1-1 in the Pacific-10 Conference. Oregon, unranked, fell to 5-6, 0-2.

    USC was led by sophomore middle blocker Jasmina Marinkovic's 20 kills and 5 blocks and sophomore outside hitter Jennifer Kessy's 12 kills and 9 digs. Oregon was led by sophomore outside hitter Madeline Ernst's 12 kills and sophomore outside hitter Alli White's 6 blocks.

    USC enjoyed 9-1 leads in both games 1 and 2 and used a 9-0 run during Garne 3 to put the match away.

    USC next hosts No. 1 Hawaii on Thursday (Sept. 26) before hosting UCLA next Saturday (Sept. 28). Oregon next plays at home against Portland on Tuesday (Sept. 24).
