USC Defeats Pepperdine 3-1 To Move To 6-1

    MALIBU, Calif. - Senior outside hitter Vesna Dragicevic had 27 kills to lead the USC women's volleyball team to a 15-6, 11-15, 15-13, 15-6 non-conference victory over host Pepperdine Wednesday night at Firestone Fieldhouse in Malibu.

    Head coach Nina Matthies and her Waves slip to 5-3 on the campaign while Lisa Love and her Trojans improve to 6-1 on the season.

    Dragicevic dominated the match with her powerful hitting as she notched an impressive 27 kills. Also having a solid performance for the Trojans was sophomore middle blocker Jasmina Marinkovic who finished the evening with 17 kills.

    The Waves were led by the play of junior outside hitter Nicole Sanderson who finished the evening with 23 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore transfer Kymme Vicknair and junior setter Becci Roehl also had strong games as Vicknair had 17 kills and 14 digs, while Roehl had 46 assists and 16 digs.

    The Women of Troy travel to Corvallis, Ore., to take on Oregon State Friday at 7 p.m.
