    USC Kessy Named Pac-10 Player of the Week

    Walnut Creek, Calif. - USC junior outside hitter Jennifer Kessy has been named Pacific-10 Conference Player of the week, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

    Kessy, from San Juan Capistranp, Calif., was named MVP of the GOFF/ Michigan State Volleyball Classic as she led the Trojans to victories over Xavier, Duke, and No. 6 Michigan State.

    She finished with 54 kills in three matches, averaging 5.4 kills per game. Kessy hit .361 during the tournament and also had 32 digs (3.2 dpg). 10 blocks (1.0 bpg) and 4 aces.

    In a 3-1 victory over Michigan State in the championship game, Kessy had 25 kills, 9 digs, and 4 blocks.

    It is Kessy's third Player of the Week honor of her career. It is USC's 16th honor all-time.
