Nov. 15, 2005
The USC women's tennis team has added another talented player to its roster, with the signing of Sarah Fansler. Fansler signed a national letter of intent to join the Women of Troy for the 2006-07 season, USC head coach Richard Gallien announced on Nov. 15.
"Sarah is without question one of the best recruits in the country," Gallien said of Fansler. "She's fast and athletic and extremely competitive. She's a great fit and will help us win a lot of matches."
Fansler -- out of Laguna Niguel, Calif. -- was ranked No. 2 in the nation as a 16-under player, and has since been competing as an amateur in professional tournaments. This year, she has posted an 8-5 record and was ranked No. 19 on the 2005 College Recruiting List.
"We've wanted her to be a part of our program," Gallien said. "Our expectations for her are very high."
