USC women’s tennis will be represented in doubles and singles action out at the ITA National Indoor Championships, where the nation’s elite collegiate players will do battle in one of the most competitive individual tournaments of the year. Senior Giuliana Olmos is lined up for both the singles and doubles draws, ranking #10 in the nation in singles while pairing powerfully in doubles with sophomore Gabby Smith. The Trojan tandem has touched down in New York to start their competition tomorrow (Nov. 12) at the USTA-Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.

Olmos and Smith staked their claim on a major title win earlier this fall, winning the Oracle/ITA Masters doubles championship back in September. The Trojan duo is now lined up for duty in the Round of 16 tomorrow after having scored a bye for the opening Round of 32. At 3 p.m. ET, Olmos/Smith will square off against Texas Tech’s Kiro/Valenstein to kick off their doubles journey in New York.

Meanwhile, USC senior Giuliana Olmos takes her #10 national ranking on into a competitive singles draw. At 10:30 a.m. ET on Thursday (Nov. 12), Olmos opens up her singles run with a bout against No. 3 seed Julia Elbaba of Virginia. Olmos and Elbaba last clashed at the ITA National Team Indoor Championships last season, when the Cavalier was then ranked #1 in the nation. Elbaba got the win in that one, but Olmos has climbed a good 31 spots in the national rankings since that match, making tomorrow’s bout a big one between the #3 and #10 players in the land.
