    USC Women's Tennis Begins Competition at ITA Regional Championships Today

    SAN DIEGO - USC women’s tennis continues fall competition season and opens up play at the ITA Southwest Regional Championships this week, kicking off competition today (Oct. 20) at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.

    Six players will compete in singles for the Women of Troy and one pair will suit up for doubles. The pairings and draws for the Trojans are listed below.

    Four USC women have earned seedings in the singles draw. Junior Madison Westby (No. 4 seed), sophomore Rianna Valdes (No. 5 seed), sophomore Jessica Failla (No. 7 seed), senior Zoë Katz (No. 12 seed), sophomore Kristen Venter and freshman Angela Kulikov each have byes in the first round.

    In the doubles competition, the sophomore duo of Jessica Failla/Rianna Valdes have locked in a No. 6 seed and have a bye in the first round.

    Two rounds of singles and one round of doubles are scheduled for today’s (Oct. 20) portion of the tournament. Competition will continue through Monday, Oct. 24.
