    The Women of Troy Set To Open the 2016-17 Season

    The USC women's tennis team is ready to begin their 2016-17 campaign.

    LOS ANGELES - The Women of Troy are ready to begin their 2016-17 season with four team members nationally ranked in singles. Sophomore Rianna Valdes opens the fall ranked No. 83 nationally, while junior Madison Westby ranked at No. 88 follows closely behind.

    Ranked at No. 93 is junior Gabby Smith. Smith, who was a 2016 ITA All-American in doubles with her former partner Giuliana Olmos, is also nationally ranked with her new doubles partner, Zoë Katz. The tandem of Katz/Smith enters the season at No. 33.

    To wrap up the nationally ranked Trojans is sophomore Jessica Failla who will begin the season at No. 97.

    This week brings up USC's first official action of the 2016-17 season. The Trojans hit the road and travel to Las Vegas, Nev. where they will compete in the UNLV Invitational from Sept. 23-25 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
