    April 9, 2013

Sophomore Sabrina Santamaria extended her singles winning streak out to 19 in a row while also remaining undefeated in doubles play after last week's run through two Pac-12 road wins for the Trojans. Her winning touch has hauled in her third set of honors as Pac-12 Player of the Week this season.

The 7-0 sweep of ASU made USC the only team still undefeated in Pac-12 play. #2 Santamaria took out two ranked opponents in straight sets in singles during the trip through Arizona. Santamaria beat ASU's #23 Jacqueline Cako 6-3, 6-3 and then pulled in the clinching victory at Arizona with a 6-3, 7-6 (3) victory over #64 Lacey Smyth. In doubles, Santamaria paired up with senior Danielle Lao for the first time this season and was strong once again. Their match at ASU was suspended when USC secured the doubles point, but at Arizona the pair blasted Austin/Smyth 8-1 for the first win of the day.

Santamaria is now 28-3 overall in singles and a perfect 15-0 in dual matches. In doubles, Santamaria is now 26-0 overall playing with Kaitlyn Christian and Danielle Lao.

Santamaria -- one of six Women of Troy to win the Pac-12's weekly honor this season -- and the Trojans continue their pursuit of a Pac-12 title this weekend with a trip to Oregon to face the Ducks at 12 p.m. on Sunday (April 14) in Eugene.
