No. 3 USC Women Down Arizona 6-1|

LOS ANGELES, CALIF. - The third-ranked USC women's tennis team remained undefeated in Pac-10 play (3-0) thanks to a 6-1 victory over 30th-ranked Arizona on Friday afternoon at Marks Tennis Stadium. With the win, the Women of Troy improve to 12-2 overall, while Arizona falls to 11-6 overall.
USC won two of its three doubles matches to earn the first point of the afternoon. The Duos of Magnani and Lindsey Nelson, and Carine Vermeulen and Diane Matias both eased into 8-4 wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots to clinch the 1-0 advantage.
In singles play, Fink was the first off the court as she overtook Stephani Balzert 6-1, 6-0. In the No. 5 position Vermeulen earned a convincing victory over the Wildcats' Tina Razkloznik, 6-2, 6-4, and DeVera secured the Trojan victory with a 6-2, 6-0 decision over Camelia Todorvoa at court six. Matias overcame No. 112 Juliette Mavroleon 6-2, 6-4 and Anca Anastasiu notched her 12th straight singles victory after defeating Kasia Jakowlew 7-6, 6-3 at court four.
The Trojans nearly completed a match sweep when Luana Magnani split sets with Danielle Steinberg. Magnani lost the first set 6-1 and won the second set 7-6 after forcing a tiebreaker 8-6. Since the Trojans had already clinched the match Magnani and Steinberg decided the match with a 10-game pro-set, where Magnani fell 10-4.
The Women of Troy return to the court on Saturday April 1, when they host 13th ranked Arizona State at noon at Marks Stadium.
