This Week -- The eighth-ranked USC women's tennis team (13-3, 4-0 Pac-10), coming off victories over Texas, San Diego and LMU, resumes Pac-10 play when it travels to top-ranked Stanford (16-0) and No. 11 California (13-4) this week. The Women of Troy face the Cardinal on Friday, April 2, at 1:30 p.m. at the Taube Family Tennis Center in Stanford, then travel to Berkeley to face the Bears on Saturday, April 3, at noon.

    * This week's matches will not count against conference records. Only the second of two meetings against Pac-10 teams during the season (except Oregon, Washington and Washington State, which USC faces only once) count against Pac-10 records.

Streaks on the Line -- The Women of Troy head to the Bay Area with a nine-match win streak on the line. USC has not lost a match since its difficult outing at the ITA Indoor Championships in early February. Stanford is 16-0 this year and must face Cal on March 31 before hosting the Women of Troy.

Anastasiu Setting the Standard -- Freshman Anca Anastasiu boasts the team's best overall singles record at 13-3, as well as a perfect 5-0 mark against conference opponents. Anastasiu also owns the team's best doubles record with partner Dianne Matias. The pair are 10-1 overall and also 5-0 against Pac-10 foes.

ITA Ranking Updates -- The Women of Troy jumped another spot to No. 8 in the latest ITA rankings released on March 30. In singles, the Trojans' Luana Magnani improved to No. 13, Anca Anastasiu entered the poll at No. 64 and in doubles, Magnani and Vermeulen jumped to 12th.

Pac-10 Proves Toughest -- The Pac-10 has four of the top 10 teams and five of the top 11 in this week's poll (No. 1 Stanford, No. 6 Washington, No. 8 USC, No. 9 UCLA, No. 11 Cal). All nine conference teams are ranked among the top 100 (no team is lower than 54), making the Pac-10 the only conference to have all schools represented in the poll.

USC vs. Stanford -- Stanford is 47-17 all-time against USC. The Women of Troy have not defeated the Cardinal since 1986 when USC won one of two meetings. Last season, the Women of Troy lost twice by 5-2 scores.

USC vs. California -- The Trojans are 23-22 all-time against California. Last season, the two teams split the regular season meetings then faced each other a third time in the NCAA Quarterfinals. USC was eliminated by Cal, 4-1.
