No. 3 USC Women Head To San Diego|
Feb. 1, 2007
The No. 3 ranked USC women's tennis team continues its 2007 quest with its first road trip of the year, taking its 2-0 record to San Diego to face the Toreros on Thursday (Feb. 1). The No. 59 San Diego squad is 2-1 on the season, posting wins over Hawaii and Cal State Fullerton before falling to No. 11 California last week.
The Women of Troy topped No. 28 Long Beach State and No. 13 Pepperdine on the way into this next dual match, falling in just one singles and one doubles match along the way. Three USC singles players hold national rankings as the dual match season gets underway, led by #9 freshman Sarah Fansler. Seniors Dianne Matias and Judy DeVera also are ranked, sitting at #46 and #95, respectively.
USC entered the season ranked No. 3 as a team, and has held that ranking through this most recent poll, released Jan. 30.
