Jan. 30, 1998 Women's Tennis Falls to Arizona, 7-2
TUCSON, Ariz. -- The Arizona women's tennis team defeated the Trojans of USC 7-2 in a dual match, to go 1-0 in the Pac-10 season and 3-1overall. Vicky Maes dominated her match against Ditta Huber in the No. 1 position as did fellow senior Betsy Miringoff at the No. 2 spot against No. 49 Veronika Safarova. Also, the No. 4 Wildcat player, Michelle Gough, displayed a great effort as she battled Karolina Bakalarova, losing in a tough three set match. Arizona won four of the six singles matches and dominated all three doubles matches. Tomorrow's battle against No. 2 UCLA is scheduled for noon at Lanelle Robson tennis center. Results Singles: 1.
