    Fink/Niculescu Fall in Consolation Doubles

    Nov. 2, 2007

COLUMBUS, OHIO - USC men's doubles pair Robert Farah / Kaes Van't Hof exacted some revenge on the last team to beat them by posting an 8-6 win over Denver's Holmstrom/Persson on Friday in the semifinals of the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Tennis Championships in Columbus, Ohio. Now the owners of a seven-match win streak, the Trojan doubles team - winners of the ITA West Regional doubles title - head into the semis against another Texas pair: Damico/Barriga on Saturday.

Farah had another full day in Columbus, also taking part in consolation singles action. The Trojan sophomore tacked up a 6-4, 6-0 Round of 16 win over Oklahoma's Daescu on Friday, setting himself up to play South Alabama's Jack Baker in the consolation quarterfinals on Saturday.

In women's action, USC doubles team Amanda Fink / Gabriela Niculescu fell in their consolation quarterfinal 8-4 to Duke's Mang/Granson.
