PACIFIC PALISADES, CALIF. -- USC women's tennis doubles duo Giuliana Olmos and Zoë Scandalis saw a stretch of seven straight wins come to an end today in the championship match at the ITA/Riviera Women's All-American Championships in Pacific Palisades, Calif. The upset-minded Women of Troy had beaten four consecutive top-20 teams en route to the final, where they would come up short of yet another upset win in falling 6-4, 6-2 to UCLA's #20 Anderson/Brady.

Olmos/Scandalis were looking to become the second straight Trojan pair to win the ITA/Riviera All-American Doubles Championship, with defending champs Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria out of the draw this year due to injury. For the #54 ranked Trojan pair, though, this run to the title match was a satisfying feat.

After stumbling in their first prequalifying match last weekend, Olmos and Scandalis wound up being awarded a spot in the qualifying draw as a "lucky loser." Since then, the Trojan duo proved to be anything but losers, racing through qualifying in order to earn their spot here in the main draw, Olmos and Scandalis, ranked #54 in the nation, dispatched four straight top-20 teams, including two top-10 takedowns, before taking the championship loss to the #20 Bruins.
