Nelson's All-American Run Ends In Quarterfinals|

PACIFIC PALISADES, CALIF. -- USC junior Lindsey Nelson made a good run at the presitigious Riviera/ITA All-American Women's Tennis Championships, but was tripped up in the quarterfinals with a 6-1, 6-3 loss to Shadisha Robinson of South Florida on Friday.
Nelson plowed through her Round of 16 opponent, Miami's Laura Vallverdu, with a 6-1, 6-4 victory before facing Robinson later that day. Nelson's teammate Dianne Matias also competed on Friday morning, but the senior was edged out in the Round of 16 with a 7-6 (2), 6-2 loss to Wisconsin's Caitlin Burke.
USC sophomore Amanda Fink was in the consolation bracket on Friday and lost her match to Marshall's Kellie Schmidt 6-2, 6-2.
The next fall competition for the Women of Troy comes Oct. 19-23 at the ITA Regionals to be held in San Diego, Calif.
