URBANA, ILL. -- No. 2 seeded doubles pair Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria have made the breakthrough to the NCAA doubles title match, becoming the first USC women's team to reach the final as they look to add to their laundry list of crowns earned in their two seasons playing together at USC.

The winners of back-to-back ITA National Indoor Doubles and Pac-12 Doubles championships, Christian/Santamaria are in hot pursuit of USC's first NCAA doubles title after beating Tennessee's Boren/Szekely 7-5, 7-5 in today's rain-interrupted semifinal. The Trojan pair took their first advantage after rain stopped their match with USC up 6-5 and receiving in the first set. When play resumed, Christian/Santamaria stole away the first set and then stayed the course to earn their place in tomorrow's title match.

The Women of Troy will face UCLA's Anderson/Morton tomorrow for the championship not before 1:30 p.m. CT in Urbana, Ill. This will be the second meeting of the season between Christian/Santamaria and Anderson/Morton, presenting a rematch of the ITA/Riviera All-American semifinal match back in October, when the Trojans beat the Bruin pair 6-2, 6-2 en route to capturing the tournament title.

    POSTMATCH QUOTES

    Kaitlyn Christian:
"We went in expecting to have a battle; we really respect this team. We both know them, and we know that they're a very good team. We just wanted to get going from the start, just come out firing. We knew we couldn't give away any freebies."

    On the weather...
"We hit inside after the rain delay. We thought that we were going to go inside, but we've played matches outdoor and indoor. We don't care; we just wanted to focus on our games and not the weather or outdoor or indoor because if we focus on that, we can get sidetracked."

On being in the national championship...
"It feels amazing, we've gone through ups and downs this season, and we really wanted to be here. We'd love to play in the US Open; it feels amazing, and we're really excited to be here and compete."
