Women's Tennis Beats Arizona State, 6-1|

Tempe, Ariz. - The fifth-ranked Women of Troy proved to strong for the Arizona State Sun Devils beating them, 6-1, on Friday, March 25, in Tempe, Ariz. With the win the Trojans improve to 12-1 on the season and 4-0 in Pac-10 play while the Sun Devils fall to 5-5, 1-3.
The day started off the right way for the Trojans as they swept the three doubles positions. Nelson and Carine Vermeulen teamed up at center court to beat Lauren Colalillo and Kady Pooler, 9-8. USC's Nicole Leimbach and Dianne Matias followed up with an 8-6 victory on court No. 2 over Sabrina Capannolo and Jessica Leitch. The Women of Troy's Anca Anastasiu and Taylynn Snyder wrapped up doubles with an 8-4 victory over Joslynn Burkett and Wendy Pilecka at court No. 3.
Singles played out in a similar fashion for the Trojans as they took the top five positions. 11th-ranked Leimbach defeated Capannolo, 6-4, 6-1, at center court. 10th-ranked Nelson remained perfect in singles with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at court No. 2. Anastasiu kept the momentum for the Women of Troy with her 6-2, 6-3 victory over Pooler at court three. Over on court No. 4 Matias put away Pilecka with a 7-5, 6-2 victory. Vermeulen picked up the final victory for USC, 6-3, 6-2, over Leitch on court No. 5.
The Trojans take the court once again on Saturday, march 26, at noon MT in Tucson, Ariz.
