USC Women's Run Stops In ITA Semis

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The No. 16 USC women's tennis team reached the ITA National Team Indoor Championship semifinals for just the third time in Trojan history, making a resurgence to the semis today after nine years. In today's 2012 semifinals, USC faced crosstown rival UCLA, and took a 4-0 loss to the No. 4 Bruins. The loss is the Trojans' first of the year, putting USC at a 7-1 overall record on the year. The Trojans dropped the doubles point for the third straight match at the ITA Indoors, but couldn't recover in this one. In singles play, UCLA pushed to victory with straight-set wins at the No. 6 position and No. 4 slots before eking out a three-setter on court five. USC was in the ITA National Indoor semifinals for the first time since 2003, with the first-ever appearance in 1988. ITA NATIONAL TEAM INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS (Charlottesville, Va.)
