After bye in the first round, Lindsey Nelson and Maria Sanchez both grabbed Round of 16 victories. Nelson's was relatively smooth, as the senior topped Georgia Tech's Noelle Hickey 6-2, 6-2. Freshman Sanchez pulled out a solid win, taking down UCLA's Tracy Lin in three sets, 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 to join Nelson in the quarterfinals.
