    USC and UCLA Tennis Meet In Unprecedented Doubleheader

    Men’s and women’s teams will play doubles simultaneously at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday (April 17) at Marks Stadium.

    THIS SEASON: Zoë Katz enters her junior season at USC.

    2014-15 SEASON: Katz finished her sophomore season ranked No. 28 in the nation in doubles with partner Sabrina Santamaria and #39 with Gabriella DeSimone... Reached the NCTC doubles final and won the Pac-12 Invitational Doubles Championship with DeSimone... Played in NCAA Doubles Round of 32 with Santamaria... Went 3-2 in doubles at the No. 1 position with Santamaria during the NCAA Team Tournament... Went 16-6 overall in singles, going 5-0 in dual matches... Played primarily at the No. 6 position (4-1)... Also played at No. 5 (1-0)... Had the clinching singles win vs. St. Mary’s... In doubles, went 28-11 overall with a 15-5 mark in dual matches... Was 13-6 overall and 13-5 in dual matches with Santamaria, playing primarily at the No. 1 position... Also went 10-1 with DeSimone, and paired with Zoë Scandalis (2-1), Gabby Smith (0-1), Madison Westby (3-1) and Meredith Xepoleas (0-1)...  In the fall, reached the ITA Southwest Regional singles quarterfinals... Also competed at the Baylor Under Armour Kick-Off, ITA Riviera All-American qualifying and Jack Kramer Club Classic.

    2013-14 SEASON: Katz finished her freshman season ranked No. 85 in the nation in ITA singles and No. 14 in doubles with Brynn Boren... Named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Feb. 24... Reached the NCAA Doubles Round of 16 with Boren... Went 14-9 overall in singles with a 6-4 mark in dual matches... Played primarily at the No. 6 position, going 4-1 there... Also played at No. 4 (0-2) and No. 5 (2-1) positions... In doubles, went 27-12 overall with a 13-5 mark in dual matches... Was 21-7 overall with Boren, going 8-2 in dual matches... Also paired with Gabriella DeSimone (3-2, 3-1), Giuliana Olmos (2-2, 2-2) and Ellie Yates (1-1)... In the fall, won the ITA National Indoor doubles consolation championship with Boren... Reached the doubles final of the ITA Southwest Regional with Boren... Entered the preseason ranked No. 19 in the nation in ITA doubles with Boren and ranked No. 3 with Boren entering the 2014 spring season.

    HIGH SCHOOL: Katz became the first player in CIF history to win four straight doubles championships from 2009-2012... Also won three CIF team championships with Campbell Hall in 2009, 2010 and 2012... A two-time All-American... Named MVP of the Gold Coast Athletic Conference and 2013 LA Daily News Player of the Year... Won two National Sportsmanship awards... Was a 2012 Fed Cup champion and 2011 Mays Cup champion... At Campbell Hall, went 115-2 in singles and 100-2 in doubles... Won five sectional titles and two ITF titles along with seven national doubles titles and five national singles titles.

    PERSONAL: Zoë Adeline Katz was born Dec. 17, 1994 in Los Angeles... Daughter of Katz and Nancy Lenehan... Has one brother, David Katz...  Enjoys spending time with friends in her free time... Lists Andre Agassi as her biggest sports hero... Hopes to travel after graduation and would like to visit Spain and India... Majoring in psychology and hopes to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.
