THIS SEASON: Sabrina Santamaria enters her first season at USC ranked No. 18 in the nation in singles and No. 3 in doubles with Kaitlyn Christian to start spring 2012.
HIGH SCHOOL: Santamaria led Campbell Hall High to back-to-back CIF Division I team championships while also winning the CIF Southern Section singles title in 2010 and doubles title in 2009... At Campbell Hall in North Hollywood, Calif., she was a four-time LA Daily News Player of the Year and a two-time All-American... Also named Southern California High School Player of the Year in 2010 and was the 2011 CalHi Sports Female Athlete of the Year... Was rated the No. 1 recruit in the nation by tennisrecruiting.net... Career best WTA singles ranking was 819, and was 797 in doubles... Won 2008 ITF Panama Bowl doubles title and back-to-back $10,000 pro circuit doubles titles... Placed third in the 14s at the 2007 Easter Bowl... Represented the United States at the 2007 Bonnebelle Cup and 2007 North American Junior Challenger... Also competed for Southern California at the 2007 Maze Cup and the Fed Cup in 2008 and 2009... Won the 2011 ITF Evansville Open doubles title... An honor student.
PERSONAL: Sabrina Ashley Vida Santamaria was born Feb. 24, 1993... Daughter of Ivan and Anneli Santamaria... Has one half-brother, Ivan... Has always wanted to win a national championship at USC... Has been involved with Amnesty International... Hopes to travel to Greece... Has not declared a major but hopes to pursue a degree in kinesiology and go on to graduate school for medicine or physical therapy.
