1999: Jacqui had an exceptional junior year playing No. 3 singles, posting a 33-12 overall record... Her winning percentage of .733 was second-best on the team... She went 24-6 in dual matches and had the most wins on the team... She was 21-5 at the No. 3 position... She went a perfect 8-0 in Pac-10 dual matches ... Jacqui made the 1999 All-Pac-10 honorable mention team for the second straight year... She lost in the first round of the NCAA Championships to Janet Bergman of Wake Forest, ending the year ranked No. 50 by the ITA after being ranked No. 46 in the national preseason poll... In the fall, she reached the semifinals of the ITA Regional Tournament... In doubles, Boyd was 12-11 overall and 10-8 in dual matches... With Caroline Christian, the pair went 7-6 overall and 6-5 at the No. 3 position...
1998: Boyd led the Women of Troy in wins (23) as a sophomore... Named to the 1998 All-Pac-10 honorable mention team... Overall, she went 23-12 and was 18-6 in dual matches... She ended up No. 65 in the final singles rankings... Jacqui competed at the NCAA Championships, where she defeated Aarthi Venkatesan of Georgia in the first round but lost to Holly Parkinson of BYU in the second round... She started the season 15-0 in dual matches... Boyd played both No. 2 singles (4-3) and No. 3 singles (14-3)... In doubles, she went 9-13 overall, primarily with Ditta Huber... The pair went 7-9 in dual matches as the No. 1 team ...
1997: Jacqui arrived at USC for the spring semester, but her debut was delayed because of issues with the NCAA Clearinghouse... After being cleared to play in the first week of March, she went 10-5 overall and 10-4 in duals in singles as a 1997 freshman ... Her .667 winning percentage was tops on the team... She won all three of her singles matches at the NCAA West Regionals... She played doubles mostly with Karolina Bakalarova, and the pair went 3-3 at the No. 3 slot, 4-4 in duals and 5-5 overall...
PREP EXPERIENCE: Boyd is a 1996 graduate of Herzlia High in Cape Town, South Africa... She was ranked among the Top-10 of South Africa's juniors in singles and doubles since 1991... Named the South African Maccabi Association Junior Sportswoman of the Year, she won the Premier League Championship in 1995 and 1996... She represented South Africa at the 1995 African National Championships in Egypt, the 1995 World Youth Cup in Germany, and the 1993 World Maccabi Games in Isreal...
PERSONAL: Jacqui Leanne Boyd was born on March 16, 1979 in Cape Town, South Africa... She is the daughter of Victor and Maxine Boyd... She is a business major at USC.
