THIS SEASON: CCristala Andrews enters her third season at USC.
2009: Andrews went 12-6 overall in singles with a 3-0 mark at the No. 6 position in dual matches... In doubles, went 8-7 overall with a 3-1 record at No. 3 with Alison Ramos and a 1-0 effort at No. 3 with Leyla Entekhabi in dual matches... Received 2009 Pac-10 All-Academic Honorable Mention... Reached the quarterfinals of the Pac-10 Invitational tournament in singles... During the fall, went 3-3 in singles and 1-2 in doubles... Reached the ITA Regionals Round of 16 in singles and went 1-2 in singles and in doubles at the Duals in the Desert in singles.
2008: Andrews went 14-10 in singles and 16-11 in doubles in her first year at USC... Was 5-2 at the No. 6 singles slot in dual matches... At No. 3 doubles with Maria Sanchez, went 8-2, including a 2-1 outing during the NCAA Team Tournament... Also went 3-1 in dual match doubles at No. 2 with Lindsey Nelson... During the fall, went 6-4 in singles and 2-3 in doubles... Reached the consolation quarterfinals of the ITA West Regionals, going 4-2 at the tournament.
HIGH SCHOOL: Andrews is a 2007 graduate of Laurel Springs High School in Ojai, Calif... Considered a No. 7 ranked recruit... Competed in the ITA BG18-12 Great Pumpkin Sectional and the USTA BG18, 16 Winter Championships in 2006... Won the finals in the 59th Pasadena Rose Bowl Junior Championships.
PERSONAL: Cristala Bella Andrews was born on July 9, 1989 in New York City... Daughter of Shari and Savvas Andrews... Has two sisters, Heather and Samantha... Lists Monica Seles as her favorite athlete... Her favorite pastimes outside of tennis are shopping, running, listening to music and going to the movies... Has not decided on a major.
