    Hosszu Top Winner On FINA World Cup Tour

    USC great Katinka Hosszu, who finished her career as a Trojan in March as a five-time NCAA champion, was the top earner on the recently completed 2012 FINA World Cup tour, totaling close to $170,000.

    The eight-city tour, which finished Sunday (Nov. 11), spanned Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Swimmers earned $1500 for first-place swims, $1000 for second and $500 for third and Hosszu led all men's and women's swimmers with winnings of $69,250. Hosszu, a two-time finalist for Hungary at the 2012 Olympics, also earned the grand prize of $100,000 for accumulating the most points during the tour, based on her substantial victory totals.

    Each stop on the FINA World Cup tour featured two-day meets in short course meters. Hosszu posted a remarkable 39 wins during the 16 days of competition, many of which came in the 200m and 800m free, the 200m fly and the 400m IM.
