    Trojan Diving Invite Set For Friday, Saturday

    Sophomore 2012 Pac-12 finalist Jordan Gear and sophomore transfer Haley Ishimatsu will spearhead USC at the 2012 Trojan Diving Invitational, Friday and Saturday (Nov. 2-3) at USC.

    Joining USC in the diving pool will be Cal Poly, Fresno State, UCLA, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara and San Diego.

    Action begins Friday at 12 p.m. with the men's 3-meter prelim and the women's 1-meter with men's and women's platform to follow. Saturday's action begins at 10 a.m. with men's 1-meter and women's 3-meter.

    As a freshman in 2012, Gear was USC's top men's diver, finishing fourth on platform at the Pac-12 Championships. He was also 11th on 3-meter and 13th on 1-meter and hopes to qualify for the NCAA Championships this season.

    Ishimatsu, the younger sister of former USC NCAA Champion Victoria Ishimatsu, transferred to USC from Duke, where she competed as a freshman in 2011 and won the 2011 ACC title on platform. She also competed for the U.S. at the 2008 Olympics in the 10-meter (14th) and synchronized 10-meter (fifth).
