USC senior Rebecca Heyliger, a native of Bermuda, turned in a strong showing at the recently completed Caribbean Island Swimming Championships, winning three silver and two bronze medals.

She won silvers in the 50-meter fly (29.14) and the 50-meter (27.00) and 100-meter (59.71) free while claiming bronze medals in the 100-meter fly (1:05.37) and the 50-meter back (31.62).

She is a two-time Pac-12 All-Academic team selection and will be a team co-captain in the upcoming 2014-15 season.

Said USC Coach Dave Salo: "We are all proud of Bexx's continued progress. Bexx spent one year training with the Trojan Swim Club with the intent of qualifying for the USC Varsity team. Two years later she has been selected team captain and is rising in international competition. Her rise in the ranks of swimming is mirrored by her top performance in the classroom, where she maintains one of the highest GPAs on the team."
