Women's Swimming and Diving Look to Defend Title|

LOS ANGELES - The No. 4 USC womens swimming and diving team, the 1997 NCAA champions, begins the defense of its title this Thursday through Saturday (March 19-21) at the 1998 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships at Minnesotas University Aquatics Center in Minneapolis, Minn. USC, under 2-time NCAA Coach of the Year Mark Schubert, is led by 4-time NCAA title winner Lindsay Benko, senior All-American Jean Ellis Todisco and 4 other returning All-Americans. Among them are All-American divers Dorte Lindner and Natalya Chikina, both among the favorites for NCAA titles. Preliminaries will begin each day at 11 a.m. and finals will begin at 7 p.m. All times are CST. The meet will be broadcast by ESPN on a tape-delay basis at 12:30 a.m. (EST) on March 29.
