USC freshman Jasmine Tosky capped a strong start to her Trojan career by being named the Pac-12's women's Swimmer of the Month for December, the conference announced Tuesday (Jan. 8).

Tosky helped the USC women to a first-place finish in the 2012 U.S. Winter Nationals. She won the 200y fly with a time of 1:54.38 (clocking an NCAA `A' cut of 1:53.98 in prelims) and was a member of the Trojans' winning 800y free relay team (7:05.69). She also took fifth in the 100y fly and sixth in the 200y IM. She also helped the 400y medley relay team to a second-place finish with a season-best time of 3:32.20, and the 200y free relay she swam on took third place with an NCAA automatic qualifying time of 1:29.47.

Tosky also competed in the 2012 FINA Short Course World Championships, where she swam the first leg in the prelims of the 800m free relay for a U.S. squad that won the gold medal. Additionally, she placed ninth in the 200m fly, missing the finals by just 0.38.

In addition to her `A' cut in the 200y fly, Tosky has five `B' cuts this season.
