No. 1 USC Downs WSU, 137-58

Behind back-to-back wins by senior Haley Anderson, USC's top-ranked women's swimming and diving team defeated visiting Washington State, 137-58, in a Pac-12 long course dual meet Saturday (Nov. 3) at USC. Anderson won the 800m free in 9:04.05 and followed it with a win in the 200m free in 2:04.45, edging junior teammate Lynette Lim's 2:04.45. Sophomore Andrea Kropp won the 200m IM in 2:18.59, well ahead of second-place teammate Jessica Schmitt (2:23.02). Senior Yumi So (1:02.96) and Lim (1:04.30) went 1-2 in the 100m fly and freshman Kasia Wilk followed with a first in the 100m free (58.55). USC, led by senior Christel Simms' 1:05.05, went 1-2-3 in the 100m back and freshman Nikki Chang then led another sweep of the 400m free with a 4:27.96. Junior Meghan Hawthorne also won the 100m breast with a 1:13.43. USC (3-0) is back in action next week with Pac-12 foes Arizona and Arizona State in town.
