Day Two Results From The Pac-10 Diving Championships

LOS ANGELES - Arizona sophomore Ruben Vaca and Stanford junior Erin Sones both won titles on the second day of the Pacific-10 Conference Diving Championships on Friday (Feb. 25) at the USC McDonald's Swim Stadium.

Vaca, from Mexico City, won the men's 1-meter title with a score of 492.25. Arizona State's Marc Briggs, who won the 3-meter Thursday, finished second (489.85) and fellow Sun Devil Allan Sonkin was third (489.05).

Sones, from Pasadena, Calif., won the women's 3-meter title with a score of 486.67, followed by Arizona's Lindsay Berryman (485.94) and Cardinal teammate McKenze Murphy (469.80).

The meet concludes Saturday with the men's and women's platform. Originally scheduled for 10 a.m., it will now begin at 9:30 a.m.

The overall team championships for Pac-10 Swimming and Diving include points from both the diving and swimming competitions. The Pac-10 Women's Swimming Championships are taking place Thursday through Saturday (Feb. 24-26) in Long Beach, Calif. The men's championships will be March 2-4 in Seattle, Wash.
