FEDERAL WAY, Wash. - Junior diver Kellie Brennan defended her 1-meter springboard title and USC had eight different swimmers and divers make finals appearances as the Trojans opened in first place after the first day of the 2001 Pacific-10 Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way, Wash., on Thursday (Feb. 22).

USC leads the competition with 360.5 points, just ahead of second-place Arizona (342.3) and third-place UCLA (324.4).
