THIS SEASON: A two-time Polish Olympian, 2016 senior Kasia Wilk is a strong sprint freestyler who has shown great individual scoring ability while lending a strong hand on relays. She’s an eight-time All-American on relays and has scored twice individually at the NCAA Championships.
2015: Wilk was a two-time All-American as a 2015 junior, helping USC to fifth in the 800y free relay and to seventh in the 400y medley relay. She scored for the first time at the NCAAs in the 100y free, finishing 10th in 48.24 after posting a personal best 48.12 in prelims. She was also 24th in the 50y free (22.26, 0.02 off her personal best and like in the 100, Troy’s best time of the season) and helped USC to 10th in the 200y free relay … At the 2015 Pac-12 Championships, Wilk earned her first conference final spot in the 100y free (fourth final appearance overall), finishing fifth in 48.26. She was 14th in the 50y free (22.76) and led off USC’s third-place 400y free relay among five relay swims … She represented Poland at the 2015 FINA World Championships, leading off the 400m free relay that took 12th and anchoring her 400m medley relay that was 18th. She was also 24th in the 100m free (55.24).
2014: Wilk earned four All-American honors as a mainstay on USC's NCAA Championships relays as a 2014 sophomore. She swam on USC's fourth-place 800y free relay, led off USC's sixth-place 400y free relay (which set a school record in prelims), anchored the seventh-place 400y medley relay and swam second on USC's 200y free relay. Individually, she was 21st in the 200y free (1:45.57), 24th in the 100y free (48.73) and 29th in the 50y free (22.44) ... At the 2014 Pac-12 Championships, she was a two-time finalist, repeating in the 50y free with a sixth-place finish (22.33) while reaching the 200y free final for the first time, taking seventh (1:45.43). She was also ninth in the 100y free (48.37).
2013: Wilk was a two-time All-American as a 2013 freshman, helping both the 200y free and 200y medley relays to sixth place at the 2013 NCAA Championships. She also scored individually in the 50y free, taking 16th (22.79) after tying for 13th in prelims (22.36). She was also 42nd in the 100y free (49.57) ... At the 2013 Pac-12s, Wilk was seventh in the 50y free (22.49), 14th in 100y free (49.57) and 17th in the 200y free (1:48.25) ... At the 2012 U.S. Winter Nationals, Wilk was fifth in the `B' final of the 100y free (49.35), she was second in the `C' final of the 50y free (22.59) and she was eighth in the `C' final of the 200y free (1:48.22) ... Wilk, swimming for Poland, swam in the semifinals of the 100m free at the 2013 World University Games, taking 13th (56.27). She went 56.11 in the prelims. She was also 24th in the 50m free (26.41).
POLAND: Wilk represented Poland at both the 2008 and 2012 Olympics as well as at a host of other international meets. At the 2012 Olympics in London, Wilk was 27th in the 100m free and swam on Poland's 16th-place 800m free relay. She also raced in the same relay in 2008 ... She was a bronze medalist on Poland's 200-meter medley relay at the 2011 European Short Course Championships and was a semifinalist in the 50m and 100m free at the 2010 European Championships. She also represented Poland at the 2009 World Championships in the 50m free and at the 2009 European Short Course Championships in the 200m free relay and the 100m free. Wilk recently won a 2012 Polish long course title in the 100m free for the third year in a row. She was third in the 50 for the second year in a row after winning it in 2010, the same year she also claimed the 200m free.
