THIS SEASON: A 2008 senior diver with All-American potential, Popp has improved each year she has been at Troy. Now in her final season, she is aiming for her first All-American performance and is shooting for her first conference crown.
2007: Popp became an NCAA Championships individual point scorer for the first time as a junior in 2007, finishing 12th on platform (268.55) ... She earned the NCAA berth after taking second on platform (513.85) at the Zone E Championships ... At the 2007 Pac-10 Championships, Popp was second on platform (271.10), ninth on 1-meter (244.05) and 20th on 3-meter (216.85) ... At the 2007 Senior National Diving Championships, Popp was a finalist on platform, taking 12th (226.45) ... At the 2007 Spring National Championships, she was 11th on platform (232.11).
2006: Popp took a major step forward as a 2006 sophomore, making her NCAA Championships debut with a 22nd on platform (195.10) and 39th on 1-meter (209.35). She earned the NCAA berth with a strong performance at the NCAA Zone E Diving Championships, where she finished second with 498.75 ... At the Pac-10 Championships, she was USC's highest finisher on the platform, taking second with 286.20. She also competed in both springboard events ... Popp also made her debut at the U.S. Diving National Championships in August, where she earned a spot in the semifinals.
2005: Popp competed in three events at the 2005 Pac-10 Championships, taking 15th on platform (283.50), 23rd on 3-meter (330.35) and 25th on 1-meter (155.80).
HIGH SCHOOL: Popp prepped at Palos Verdes Peninsula (Calif.) High, where she was a three-year gymnast and competed as a diver in 2004 ... She was fourth in the CIF Southern Section diving finals in 2004 and was an all-league gymnast in 2002 and 2003 ... She was a member of National Honor Society and CSF.
PERSONAL: She was born on July 6, 1986 ... Popp is an engineering major.
