THIS SEASON: Jan Mitchell, a 2004 senior who has been a solid contributor to USC her entire career, will continue to add depth in the free and breast events for the Troy in her final season.
2003: As a 2003 junior, Mitchell matched her best ever Pac-10 Championships finish with a 27th in the 100y breast (1:07.58). She was also 35th in the 200y breast (2:31.62) and 56th in the 50y free (26.31).
2002: Mitchell competed in three events at the 2002 Pac-10s as a sophomore, finishing 32nd in the 100y breast (1:08.18), 35th in the 200y breast (2:32.30) and 46th in the 50y free (25.29.
2001: As a 2001 freshman, Mitchell raced in three events at the 2001 Pacific-10 Championships, finishing 27th in the 100y breast (1:08.03), 31st in the 200y breast (2:32.40) and 52nd in the 50y free (26.75).
HIGH SCHOOL: Mitchell prepped at St. Mary’s Episcopal in Memphis, Tenn. ... Among her career highlights was finishing among the top eight in the Meet of Champions and the Southeastern Regionals ... She was a National Merit semifinalist and a National Achievement finalist.
PERSONAL: Her birthday is Nov. 30, 1982.
