    THIS SEASON: Katie Meyer, a 2002 senior, made her debut as an All-American backstroker last year and should only get better this year. A key to the Trojans individually and on relays, she is a team co-captain with Kristin MacGregor.

    2001: After fighting back injuries as a sophomore, Meyer returned healthy as a junior in 2001 and had a fabulous year, earning three All-American honors and finalling three times at the Pac-10 Championships ... At the 2001 NCAA Championships, Meyer was seventh in the 200y back (1:57.98) and helped USC’s 400y and 200y medley relays to seventh and eighth-place finishes, respectively. She also was 12th in the 100y back (54.72) ... At the 2001 Pacific-10 Conference Championships, Meyer was fourth in both the 100y (54.84) and the 200y back (1:58.65) and was eighth in the 500y free (4:54.56) ... At the 2001 U.S. Spring Nationals, Meyer took 14th in the 100m back (1:05.02), 24th in the 200m back (2:20.45) and 43rd in the 200m fly (2:20.58) ... At the 2001 Summer Nationals, she tied for 11th in the 100m back (1:04.43) and was 18th in the 200m back (2:18.36).

    2000: As a 2000 sophomore, Meyer was hampered by back injuries but still competed in three events at the 2000 Pac-10s ... She was 11th in the 200y back (1:59.69), 12th in the 100y back (56.28) and 20th in the 200y fly (2:03.98) ... Her above backstroke times were both NCAA consideration marks ... She competed in one event at the 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials, placing 63rd in the 100m back (1:06.46).

    1999: Meyer debuted at the 1999 NCAAs as a freshman, scoring points with a 14th-place finish in the 200y back (1:59.88) and taking 22nd in the 100y back (56.00) ... She also finished 31st in the 200y fly (2:02.79) ... At the 1999 Pac-10s, Meyer took seventh (56.19) and eighth (1:59.92) in the 100y and 200y back, respectively, and also finished 13th in the 500y free (4:56.15) ... At the 1998 Fina World Cup, Meyer was sixth in the 50m (29.54, sc), 100m (1:02.92, sc) and 200m back (2:13.92, sc) and eighth in the 200m fly (2:17.55, sc) ... At the 1998 U.S. Open, she finished seventh in both the 100m (1:02.55, sc) and 200m back (2:15.10, sc).

    HIGH SCHOOL: Meyer prepped at Germantown Academy in Fort Washington, Pa. ... She was a nine-time Easter Interscholastic champion and took seventh at nationals in the 200m back ... She was a four-year All-American in the 100y back, 200y free, 500y free and 100y fly ... At the 1998 U.S. Summer Nationals, she competed in both the 100m and 200m back.
