THIS SEASON: A top-flight butterflyer who has made big strides as a breaststroker, 2012 senior Tanya Krisman is a three-time NCAA participant and two-time NCAA point-scorer aiming for her first All-American honor.
2011: As a 2011 junior, Krisman reached the consolation final of the 200y fly, taking 13th in 1:56.89. She was also 34th in the 100y fly (53.70) and 45th in the 200y IM (2:01.48) ... At the 2011 Pac-10 Championships, she won the consolation final in the 200y fly (1:57.69) and was 24th in the 200y breast (2:20.83).
2010: As the 2010 NCAA Championships, Krisman scored her first NCAA points with a 11th-place finish in the 200y fly (1:55.62). She was also 29th in the 100y fly (53.71) and 40th in the 200y IM (2:00.44) ... At the 2010 Pac-10 Championships, Krisman made her finals debut in the 200y fly, taking seventh in 1:56.97. She was also 13th in the 200y IM (1:59.83) and 14th in the 100y fly (53.56) ... She was a Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention selection.
2009: As a 2009 freshman, Krisman was a key member of USC's dual-meet and post-season efforts, her season culminating at the NCAA Championships. She just missed earning a second swim in the 200y fly, finishing 18th (1:56.28) while she was 33rd in the 100y fly (53.17). She helped USC's 200y medley relay set a school record (1:38.33) en route to a consolation final appearance ... Krisman's 2009 Pac-10 Championships were highlighted by an 11th in the 200y fly (1:57.70). She was also 18th in the 100y fly (52.96) and 28th in the 200y IM (2:02.21 ... At the 2009 U.S. World Championship Trials, she was fifth in the `C' final of the 200m fly (2:13.91) and was 38th in the 100m fly (1:01.48).
HIGH SCHOOL: Krisman graduated from Torrey Pines High in La Jolla, Calif., after attending Elsinore High the previous three years. She spent her senior year attending school in La Jolla to be closer to her club team, North Coast Aquatics ... At the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials, Krisman was a finalist in the 200m fly, finishing fifth (2:09.47) ... A 2006 Junior National Team member, she was the Californian's 2007 Girls Swimmer of the Year ... She won the 200m fly at the 2006 American Short Course Championships and was a finalist in the event at the 2007 U.S. Summer Nationals. At the 2007 American Short Course Championships, she was fourth in the 200m fly ... was 2007 HSI Swimmer of the Year (based in Inland Empire Southern California) and was a three-time CIF champion in the 100y fly.
