THIS SEASON: Jasmine Tosky, one of the country's top swimmers with a pair of World Championship relays golds already to her credit, is a 2013 freshman whose versatility makes her a dynamic addition to the Trojans and helps fill the void of the departed do-everything Katinka Hosszu ... Tosky, a national teamer since 2011, claimed gold as part of the U.S. 800m free relay at the 2012 FINA Short Course World Championships in December. Tosky swam in the prelims as the Americans qualified first for the final, ultimately winning gold ... Tosky won a title in the 200y fly (1:54.38) at the 2012 U.S. Winter Nationals and was also fifth in the 100y fly (52.42), sixth in the 200y IM (1:56.67) and fifth in the `B' final of the 200y breast (2:12.86). She also swam on Troy's winning 800y free relay ... Tosky earned a spot on the 2013 U.S. World University Games team after taking second in the 200m fly at the 2012 U.S. Open. She was also third in the 100m fly and fifth in the 200m free. HIGH SCHOOL: Tosky, who attended Palo Alto (Calif.) High, won a gold medal at the 2011 World Championships after swimming a prelim leg of the U.S. 800m free relay, which went on to win gold. She also swam at the 2010 Short Course World Championships and helped the U.S. set an American record in prelims ... At the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, Tosky was a finalist in the 200m IM (2:14.67) and a semifinalist in the 100m fly (11th, 59.01) and the 200m free (11th, 1:58.91). She was 21st in the 200m fly (2:13.18) ... The 2011 San Jose Sports Hall of Fame Female High School Athlete of the Year, Tosky won the 100m breast and 100m fly at the 2011 Junior Nationals and also won three golds at the 2010 Junior Pan Pacs (200m IM, 400m and 800m free relays) as well as a silver in the 200m free and bronzes in the 100m free and 100m fly (she was also captain of the U.S. team). She set a national prep record in the 100y fly at the 2011 CIF Central Coast Section Championships, erasing the oldest high school record on the books with a 51.92 (erasing a mark by Misty Hyman).
