THIS SEASON: A talented middle distance and distance freestyler, Joy Galloway is a valuable part of USC's free corps as a 2005 junior and a versatile swimmer who can compete in many events.
2004: Galloway was 13th in the 100y free (51.11) and 16th in the 500y free (4:55.80) at the 2004 Pac-10 Championships as a sophomore last year. Her prelim time of 51.01 in the prelims of the 100y free was a personal best ... She earned 2004 Pac-10 All-Academic honors with a 3.62 GPA in communications.
2003: Galloway was an NCAA Championships point-scorer as a 2003 freshman, competing in three individual events and a pair of relays ... She earned her first individual point at the championships with a 16th-place finish in the 1650y free (16:27.59) and also anchored USC's 14th-place 400y free relay ... She was also 29th in the 400y IM (4:20.92), 31st in the 500y free (4:50.51) and anchored USC's 17th-place 200y free relay ... At the 2003 Pac-10s, she reached the finals in three events, finishing fifth in each one. Her times of 4:48.54 in the 500y free and 4:18.46 in the 400y IM were season best marks. She also swam on USC's top 400y free relay ... At the 2003 U.S. Spring Nationals, Galloway was 25th in the 1500m free (17:04.12), 27th in the 800m free (8:53.89) and 43rd in the 400m free (4:22.86) ... At the 2003 U.S. Summer Nationals, Galloway was 23rd in the 1500m free (16:57.34), 31st in the 800m free (8:52.10) and 40th in the 200m free (2:04.90).
HIGH SCHOOL: Galloway did not attend a high school, instead receiving home schooling while taking some classes at Tomball and Montgomery Community Colleges ... She competed for The Woodlands Swim Team from 1988 to 2002 ... At the 2002 U.S. Summer Nationals, she competed in the 400m IM and the 800m free
