THIS SEASON: Senior Alissa Ellis will continue to contribute to the freestyle corps for the Trojans in 2004.
2003: Ellis was USC’s highest finisher in both the 50y and 100y free at the Pac-10 Championships, taking 35th (24.28) and 33rd (53.96), respectively. She was also 39th in the 100y fly (1:01.41).
2002: Ellis swam in three races at the 2002 Pac-10s, taking 33rd in the 50y free (24.40), 42nd in the 100y free (54.00) and 50th in the 200y free (2:02.63) … She earned Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention honors with a 3.30 GPA in psychology.
2001: Ellis competed in three events at the 2001 Pac-10 Championships, finishing 35th in the 50y free (24.58), 41st in the 100y free (55.40) and 46th in the 200y free (2:03.54).
HIGH SCHOOL: Ellis prepped at Perry Meridian High in Indianapolis, Ind. ... She is her school’s record holder in the 50y free and 200y free relay ... She was a section champ in 1997 and 2000 ... In addition to lettering four years as a swimmer, she lettered three years in tennis ... She also had the highest GPA among female athletes.
PERSONAL: Her birthday is Nov. 23, 1981 ... She is a psychology major with an emphasis in pre-med ... Her father, Mark Ellis, played football at Louisville ... She enjoys many outdoor sports like rafting, hiking and rollerblading.
