    THIS SEASON: Freshman Nikki Chang is a rising mid-to-distance freestyler with the potential to be a strong point-scorer both in dual meets and the post-season ... At the 2012 U.S. Winter Nationals, she was eighth in the `C' final of the 500y free (4:52.06).

    HIGH SCHOOL: Chang prepped at Sonora High in La Habra, Calif., where she was fifth in the 1500m free at the 2011 Junior Nationals, won the `B' final of the 400m free and swam in the 200m free ... At the 2012 U.S. Olympic Trials, she was 106th in the 400m free ... She was second in the 500y free and third in the 200y free at both the 2011 and 2012 CIF Southern Section Championships.
