She is USC's record holder in the 50y free and is part of four relay records.

2011: Carlson was a four-time All-American as a 2011 freshman, taking fourth in the 100y breast (59.29) and fifth in the 50y free (22.13, PR) at the 2011 NCAA Championships, the latter time a USC record. She also helped Troy to second in the 400y medley relay and third in the 200y medley relay, also in school record times. Carlson scored individually in a third event, taking 14th in the 100y free (48.59) and helped Troy earn points in the 200y and 400y free relay ... Carlson was a two-time finalist at the 2011 Pac-10 Championships, finishing second in the 100y breast (59.12) and fifth in the 50y free (22.39). Her breaststroke time made her the second-fastest Trojan ever in the 100y breast behind record-setter Rebecca Soni. She was also 12th in the 100y free (49.75) and helped USC to second-place finishes in both medley relays ... At the 2010 Short Course Nationals, she helped USC to titles in the 200y free and 400y medley relays.

HIGH SCHOOL: Carlson prepped at Las Lomas High in Walnut Creek, Calif., where she was the Contra Costa Times 2008-2009 Athlete of the Year and the 2008-2010 Swimmer of the Year ...
