THIS SEASON: A 2002 senior, Heather Boylan will continue to add depth in the freestyle for the Women of Troy as well as in the butterfly.
2001: Boylan was again a valuable contributor as a 2001 junior ... At the 2001 Pacific-10 Conference Championships, Boylan was ninth in the 1650y free (16:52.53), 14th in the 500y free (4:57.80) and 24th in the 200y fly (2:09.97).
2000: As a 2000 sophomore, Boylan became a point scorer at the Pac-10 level ... She finished seventh in the 1650y free (16:44.94) at the 2000 Pac-10s, 12th in the 500y free (4:54.62) and was 22nd in the 200y fly (2:04.98).
1999: Boylan competed in three events at the 1999 Pac-10s, taking 21st in the 200y fly (2:06.40), 23rd in the 500y free (5:01.00) and 25th in the 200y free (1:53.59) ... At the 1999 U.S. Spring Nationals, Boylan placed 40th in the 1500m free (17:43.93) and 73rd in the 200m free (2:10.24) ... She competed in the 200m, 400m and 800m free, 200m back, 200m fly and 400m IM at the 1998 U.S. Open.
HIGH SCHOOL: Boylan prepped at Saugus (Calif.) High, where she was an All-American for four years, set eight school records and earned five CIF Southern Section Division II titles ... She was a four-time Santa Clarita Valley High School Swimmer of the Year and the 1998 Santa Clarita Valley Athlete of the Year ... She was also a two-time Saugus Athlete of the Year ... At the Junior Championships West, she won the 200y free in 1997 and took second in the 400y free.
PERSONAL: She was born Nov. 21, 1980 ... She is an education major at USC and would like to become an elementary school teacher ... Both of Boylan’s parents, as well as two aunts, two uncles and a cousin, attended USC ... Her uncle Charles Milam swam for USC.
