Kessy-Ross Get Opening Win In 2012 London Olympics|

Former Trojan greats Jennifer Kessy and April Ross, the world's No. 4-ranked women's beach volleyball team, got their medal quest off to an impressive start at the 2012 London Olympics with a 21-11, 21-18 win over Argentina's Ana Gallay and Maria Virginia Zonta in preliminary round play on Sunday (July 29).
Kessy had a match-best 16 kills, while Ross added 9 kills and 3 aces.
Kessy was a 2-time All-Conference performer at USC while lettering from 1995 to 1998. Ross, who lettered from 2000 to 2003, was a 2-time All-American and was the 2003 Honda Award winner for women's volleyball as she led the Women of Troy to the 2002 and 2003 NCAA titles. Kessy and Ross have combined for 21 pro tournament victories.
Kessy and Ross next face Netherland's Marleen van Iersel and Sanne Keizer, a 2-1 loser today to a Spanish team, on Tuesday (July 31) at 3 p.m. PT.
