LOS ANGELES - USC women's sand volleyball head coach Anna Collier will serve as coach of Team USA at the upcoming 27th Summer World University Games in Kazan, Russia, July 8-15. Trojan All-American Stevi Robinson will also represent the U.S. as one of two women's pairs with partner Caitlin Ledoux of Long Beach State.

Beach volleyball made its debut in the 2011 World University Games and is set to be played at the Kazanka Beach Volleyball Centre, this summer. 29 nations will compete in the beach volleyball competition with a total of 64 pairs in two 32-team brackets (men and women).

Collier's coaching staff includes AVP standout Anjinho Eduardo Bacil and former UCLA standout Patricia Dodd.

Former USC men's volleyball players Tri Bourne and Jeff Carlson--current sand volleyball volunteer assistant coach--will also represent Team USA in the beach competition as part of two separate men's pairs. Bourne will team with Will Montgomery of UC Irvine and Carlson will partner with Connor Hughes of UCI.

In other summer competitions, All-American Kirby Burnham joined partner Meg Norton (UCLA) as a pair in the 2013 Ontario Volleyball Association Grand Slam in Canada, June 28-30. Following the World University Games, Carlson will remain in Russia to team with Andy McGuire and will play in the FIVB Anapa Open (July 23-28).

In the U19 Beach Volleyball World Championship, incoming sand volleyball freshman Sara Hughes will join Kelly Claes in Porto, Portugal (July 11-14). Incoming men's volleyball freshman Lucas Yoder will also play in the U19 championship.
