LOS ANGELES - The USC women's sand volleyball program and Merle Norman Stadium will host the first-ever SoCal Sand Volleyball Camps July 30-August 1 (Tuesday-Thursday). Camp registration is now open and available to girls entering seventh through 12th grade. Space is limited to the first 24 registrants in each of two camps. Applicants are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
Two half-day age-group camps are available to choose from. The cost of registration for either camp is $350 per attendee. A camp for athletes entering 7th-9th grade will be held from 8:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. and is followed by a separate camp for 10th-12th grade attendees from 2:30-7:30 p.m.
A typical camp session is divided into a pair of two-hour blocks and includes a 30-minute snack break between blocks. Meals will not be provided.
USC assistant coaches Andrew Fuller and Jeff Carlson will team with Olympic coach Jeff Conover and other USC players to serve as the camp staff. Conover coached former Trojan All-Americans Jennifer Kessy and April Ross to the silver medal at the London Olympics in 2012.
The Women of Troy completed their second year of competition with an appearance in the AVCA Championships semifinals. Senior Stevi Robinson and junior captain Kirby Burnham claimed the pairs championship and were named the first sand volleyball All-Americans in USC history.
