    Alexa Stonish, a 5-7 sophomore from Stony Brook, N.Y., is a transfer from Stetson University in Florida. At Stetson, Stonish starred as a member of the sand volleyball team where she tied for the second most wins on the squad. She also helped Stetson to a second-place finish in the inaugural Atlantic Sun Championships.

    Before Stetson, Stonish attended Ward Melville High School where she played libero for the school's indoor volleyball team for four years. In high school, Stonish was named All-County and was a two-time All-Conference selection. She was also a four-time New York State Scholar-Athlete and led her team to a Suffolk County Championship and a Long Island Championship. Finally, Stonish took first place at the USA Junior National Beach Championships in 2010. Stonish is a fine arts major at USC's Roski School of Fine Arts.

    Meet Alexa Stonish

    1) How old were you when you started sand volleyball?
    I was 12 when I started playing sand, and it was just through some random league in my area.

    2) What is your favorite volleyball memory?
    My favorite volleyball memory was in 2010 when I was chosen as one of 10 women to represent my age group for volleyball on an all-expenses paid trip to Russia.

    3) Who is your favorite volleyball player?
    I'm going to go with Todd Rogers. He's a legend.

    4) So far, what is your favorite thing about USC other than sand volleyball?
    I'll say the John McKay Center. It is pretty unbelievable.

    5) What hobbies do you have outside of volleyball?
    One of my biggest hobbies is sports photography. I enjoy all types of photography, but sports photography is definitely my favorite.

    6) What is your favorite food?
    Grilled chicken; I eat it all the time.

    7) What are your biggest pet peeves?
    I'd say my biggest pet peeve is definitely when other people eat really loudly.

    8) If you lost all your possessions but got to keep one, what would it be?
    I'd have to keep my dog. He is a husky named Comet.

    9) Describe yourself in two words.
    I'll go with creative and athletic.

    10) What is your favorite movie?
    The Blind Side. I love that movie.

    11) If you could invite three people to dinner, dead or alive, who would they be?
    I would invite Kevin Hart, Kevin Durant and Trey Songz.

    12) If you could take a vacation anywhere in the world, where would it be?
    I really want to go to South Africa.

    13) What is your dream job?
    I would love to travel the world as a sports photographer. I think that would be an awesome job.

    14) What is your favorite animal?
    I love penguins. I've always wanted one as a pet.

    15) What is your biggest fear?
    My biggest fear is definitely fire; it really scares me.

    16) If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do?
    I would give the money to my dad, so he could stop working.
