USC Women's Sand Volleyball Has Road, Home Matches This Week|
March 18, 2013
The No. 3-ranked USC women's sand volleyball team (5-2) makes its first road trip of 2013 when it goes to Moraga Commons Park to face first-year programs Pacific (0-1) on Tuesday (March 19) and host St. Mary's (3-0) on Wednesday (March 20) for a pair of 3:30 p.m. dual matches during Spring Break week. The Women of Troy then return to their new on-campus Merle Norman Stadium on Friday (March 22) and welcome No. 5 Hawaii (1-0) and No. 9 Nebraska (1-2), also a new program, for team dual match competitions. USC will play Hawaii at 9 a.m., then the Rainbow Wahines will meet the Cornhuskers at 11 a.m., followed by USC versus Nebraska at 1 p.m. The format for the team dual matches will consist of 5 matches between pairs, with each match being rally scoring best-of-3 sets. For the Friday home matches, the Nos. 4 and 5 teams (and, if available, a No. 6 non-scoring team) will play in the first hour on the Merle Norman Stadium's 3 courts, followed by the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 teams in the second hour of each dual match.
