    LOS ANGELES - The No. 3-ranked USC women's sand volleyball team (1-1) hosts 3 days of competition over a 4-day span this week. First up, the Women of Troy welcome first-year programs Cal State Bakersfield (0-0) and Grand Canyon (0-1) to the new on-campus Merle Norman Stadium on Thursday (March 14) for dual matches between the teams, beginning with USC versus CSUB at 1 p.m., then CSUB meeting Grand Canyon at 3 p.m. and USC facing GCU at 5 p.m.

    Then on Saturday (March 16), No. 2 Long Beach State (1-0), new program No. 6 UCLA (0-1) and Loyola Marymount (0-2) visit for team dual match play, as USC takes on LMU at 9 a.m., followed by USC versus Long Beach State at 11 a.m., then LMU plays UCLA at 1 p.m. and ending with USC facing UCLA at 3 p.m. On Sunday (March 17) beginning at 9 a.m., 15 pairs teams from USC, UCLA and LMU will participate in a single elimination bracket tournament that will crown a pairs champion (the final is scheduled for 2 p.m.).

    The format for Thursday's and Saturday's team dual matches will consist of 5 matches between pairs, with each match being rally scoring best-of-3 sets. The Nos. 4 and 5 teams (and, if available, a No. 6 non-scoring team) will play in the first hour on the stadium's 3 courts, followed by the Nos. 1, 2 and 3 teams in the second hour of each dual match.
