    The Pepperdine women's sand volleyball team posted a 4-1 home victory over USC on Saturday (April 7) in Malibu, while the Women of Troy pairs team of Katie Fuller-Natalie Hagglund finished as runnerup in the pairs championship.

    USC fell to 5-2 on the year, while the Waves improved to 6-0.

    In the morning's team competition, Fuller-Hagglund were the only USC team to post a victory, 25-23, 24-22 in the No. 3 spot over Pepperdine’s Stevi Robinson-Kelly Larsen.

    In the afternoon's pairs competition, Fuller-Hagglund beat Pepperdine's Lilla Frederick-Kim Hill in the quarterfinals, 15-21, 21-14, 15-10, and then USC's Sara Shaw-Geena Urango in the semifinals, 21-17, 21-19 in the semfinals before falling to the Waves’ Caitlin Racich-Summer Ross in the final, 21-15, 21-18.

    Shaw-Urango advanced to the semis by defeating Pepperdine's Kellie Woolever-Victoria Adelhelm in the quarterfinals, 21-18, 17-21, 15-12.

    USC next participates in the U.S.A.V. Beach Collegiate Challenge April 14-15 in Hermosa Beach, where it will compete against Pepperdine, Hawaii, Long Beach State and Loyola Marymount.
