She registered 596 digs (5.14 dps) as a sophomore...her 596 digs placed her third on USC's single-season list while her 5.14 digs per set were the fourth-highest in school history...named AVCA All-America first team becoming the first libero in USC history to earn first team recognition...also named All-America first team by Volleyball Magazine and was named 2011 Pac-12 Conference Libero of the Year...also earned AVCA All-Pacific Region honors...finished the season with 31 digs, three assists and two aces on Dec. 15 in the NCAA national semifinal against No. 7 Illinois in San Antonio...missed her career best by one on December 10 in the NCAA Honolulu Regional final against No. 18 Pepperdine with 32 digs...posted 25 digs against No. 3 Hawai'i and was perfect in both regional matches on her serve receive (43-for-43)...on November 19, she moved into a tie for 10th place on USC's single-season list for digs...registered 30 digs (5.00 dps) in the first two rounds of the 2011 NCAA Women's Volleyball Tournament against Yale and Tulsa...on November 11 at Oregon State, she had 17 digs for a 5.67 digs per set average...had 22 digs (7.33 dps) in a sweep on November 4 against Washington State...had 25 digs and four assists on Oct. 14 in a four-set win over No. 16 Oregon...set a personal best with 33 digs on October 8 in a four-set win at Arizona State...had 41 digs in two 3-0 sweeps (Sept. 16-17) at No. 4 Washington and Washington State...tied the school record for most digs in a three-set match with 30 against the fourth-ranked Huskies, tying the mark held by Debora Seilhamer (vs. Pepperdine, December 3, 2005). She recorded 17 digs in a 3-0 loss on Sept. 2 against UCF in Fort Myers, Florida.
Junior National Team
During the summer of 2011, Hagglund was the starting libero for the United States Junior National Team that competed at the FIVB Volleyball Women's Junior World Championship Peru 2011...she was named Best Libero for the tournament after posting a 56.99 success percentage on 365 total attempts...averaged 4.90 digs per set, the second-highest total in the tournament for Team USA, which finished fourth.
In her freshman season, Hagglund played in every match for the Women of Troy as the team's starting libero...posted 497 digs (3.98 dps) with 1 kill (0.01 kps), 16 assists (0.13 aps) and 18 service aces (0.14 saps)...named to the 2010 Pac-10 Conference All-Freshman Team...finished seventh among Pac-10 Conference players for digs...during postseason play, she had 10 kills in the national semifinal against No. 4 California and helped USC get to the NCAA Final Four with a team-high 16 digs on Dec. 11 in the Dayton Regional five-set win against No. 3 Stanford...registered 13 digs in a three-set win against New Mexico in the first round and 21 digs (5.25 dps), along with a season-high three aces, against No. 18 San Diego in the four-set NCAA second-round win...recorded 27 digs in a five-set win on Nov. 26 at No. 9 UCLA...on Nov. 20 at No. 23 Oregon, she had 20 digs in the five-set win against the Ducks...had 16 digs in a 3-0 sweep on Nov. 12 against No. 20 Arizona...posted 23 digs on Oct. 30 against No. 7 Washington and had a season-high 28 digs (7.00 dps) in a four-set loss at Arizona State...on Sept. 24 against No. 11 UCLA, she had 19 digs in the four-set win against the Bruins...had a season-high 22 digs in a five-set win on Sept. 5 at No. 4 Hawai'i...her previous high of 21 digs came on August 28 against Cal State Fullerton (4 sets)....had one assist and nine digs in her collegiate debut on August 27 in a 3-0 sweep of Loyola Marymount.
Hagglund was a three-year varsity letterwinner at La Costa Canyon High in Carlsbad, Calif., under coach Pat McDougall...she was ranked as the nation's top libero by Prep Volleyball and 27th overall...named 2010 Volleyball Magazine Fab 50 selection...as a 2009 senior, Hagglund earned 2009-10 Under Armour All-America first team honors and played for the La Costa Canyon High squad that won the San Diego Section Division I championship in four sets...posted 10 kills in the Division I final victory...played for the 2009 U.S. Under-19 Beach Volleyball squad as part of the No. 2 team and was part of the youngest team ever to qualify for the main draw of the AVP Manhattan Beach Open (2009)...for La Costa Canyon High, she was named 2010 Scholar Athlete of the Year...earned 2009 North County Times first team and 2008-09 San Diego Union Tribune all-academic team honors...as a member of the 2008 CIF Division I state championship squad, she was named to the all-tournament team and earned most valuable player honors at the 2008 California Challenge...her 2008 squad earned Prep Volleyball's national high school championship...in 2007, she earned All-CIF San Diego County section, San Diego Union Tribune and North County Times first team honors...member of the 2008 La Costa Canyon High squad that was named national champions by Prep Volleyball and Max Preps...for club volleyball, she played for the Encinitas Wave and a member of the U-16 squad that won the Junior Olympics championship...named to the 2010 Junior Olympic 18 Open all-tournament team...her 2009 club team finished third at the Junior Olympics as she was named to the all-tournament team...also won a national championship in beach volleyball in the USA Volleyball Junior Olympics in Manhattan Beach for the U-16 Division...was a state beach champion in 2005 for the U-14 division...she is an accomplished surfer as well, winning the 2007 San Diego County High School Girls' Long Board Surfing championship...was a high school teammate of current USC freshman outside hitter Katie Fuller.
Natalie Marie Hagglund was born on July 1, 1992...parents are Dave and Tracy...has one brother, Brad...favorite movies are The Guardian and The Hangover...favorite television shows are SpongeBob and Gossip Girl...listens to Train, Matchbox 20 and Kid Cudi...lists Kerri Walsh as her biggest sports hero...coached a 12-year old girls' volleyball team and enjoys teaching at volleyball camps...has not decided on a major.
